Remember, window openings are rarely perfectly straight, that’s why it's always important to measure in three places for the width and height. Check our Measure Instructions under Help for more details, our how-to measure video and a downloadable measuring guide.

Width:

Measure the inside width of the window in three places: the top, middle, and bottom. 

Inside Mounts: Use the smallest measurement.

Outside Mounts: Use the longest measurement and add 3 - 4 inches for maximum coverage.

Height:

Use longest measurement from edge to edge, inside/outside (according to Mount type) of window frame. Outside Mount: add 2-3 inches above window for mount & extra length to bottom to overlap window frame.
Headrail Option
The headrail is what holds together all of the components that operate your blind or shade.

Mount

Most customers prefer to mount their blinds inside the window frame. It gives a neater, more tailored look, without covering any details of the window or the surrounding decorative moulding. 

Remember, to ensure a perfect fit for inside mount installations, please follow our measuring instructions; do not deduct anything from your measurements as this will be done automatically by production when they make deductions for mounting brackets. There is also no need to take deductions from your outside mount measurements.

With their alternating horizontal bands of sheer and blackout strips of fabric, they always look classy. When opened, they appear like a horizontal blind, and when closed, they look like a traditional roller shade - two looks, one shade.


To control the light and your privacy, rotate the strips of fabric to match up the sheer and blackout bands. Need more light? Just rotate the blind again so the room darkening bands match up, and the sheer bands are exposed. Voila!

  • To ensure a proper fit for inside mounts, we deduct approximately 1/8 inch from the width measurements.

  • For cordless zebra blinds, there is a 7/8 inch light gap on the control side and a 5/8 inch gap on the pin end.

  • For motorized zebra blinds, there is a 1 inch light gap on the motor side and a 3/4 inch gap on the pin end.
